Russian ports handle 4m TEU in January to September of 2020

CONTAINER throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-September 2020 amounted to 3.9 million TEU, with five terminals handling 2.15 million TEU or 55.4 per cent of this volume, reports St Petersburg's SeaNews.

Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg is still the leader in container throughput, although its container traffic decreased by 14.7 per cent to 496,200 TEU.
Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP) handled 489,900 TEU, which is up 8.9 per cent compared to last year. From March to September 2020, VMTP handled 394,400 TEU, which is more than any other stevedore during this period.
Meanwhile, the First Container Terminal stepped a line down and amounted to 484,400 TEU, which is down 0.5 per cent.
NUTEP increased its container traffic by 32.7 per cent to 353,500 TEU and Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company handled 328,300 TEU, which is up 12.3 per cent.
The highest container throughput growth was through the Nikolaevsk Commercial Sea Port.
