Amer Shipping sustainability shows aboard Adriana Maria

AMER Shipping's fleet in Raamsdonksveer has welcomed its latest addition, the Adriana Maria, a versatile dry-cargo vessel designed to navigate even in low water levels, reports Fort Lauderdale's Maritime Executive.

This capability owes much to the innovative 'CDS 110' hull design, developed by Concordia Damen and inspired by the successful Parsifal tankers previously constructed by the yard.

At 110 metres in length, the Adriana Maria boasts a cargo capacity 200 tonnes greater than comparable vessels.

During the official sea trial on February 8, the vessel surpassed expectations, particularly in terms of fuel efficiency and speed.

The 'Gold Label' recognition by the Green Award underscores its exceptional performance.

Laden with a cargo of Bestone for Graniet Import Benelux BV in Amsterdam, the trial run demonstrated the vessel's adherence to noise and vibration standards, exceeding them in some aspects.

With the commissioning of the Adriana Maria, Amer Shipping's fleet now stands at 58 vessels, comprising dry cargo ships, container and bunker vessels, and associated craft.

Announcing further expansion, the company is constructing a second 'CDS Dry Cargo 110', continuing its commitment to sustainable shipbuilding.

This vessel, following in the footsteps of its predecessor, is scheduled to join the fleet shortly, signaling Amer Shipping's dedication to growth and environmental responsibility.
