China's railway cargo volume increases 8.1pc in first 10 months

CHINA's railways carried 3.27 billion tonnes of cargo in the first 10 months, up 8.1 per cent year on year, while its passenger volume grew 11.2 per cent to 1.59 billion, reports Xinhua.
The railway network transported 1.88 billion tonnes of coal over this period, 112.06 million tonnes of crude oil, 79.15 million tonnes of grain and 70.69 million tonnes of fertiliser and agricultural pesticide.
